Chase Humphrey

Technical Director

Chase Humphrey serves as Technical Director for Catena FC, bringing a deep understanding of the game and a longstanding connection to player development across Delmarva and the surrounding region.

A former standout collegiate player at Salisbury University, Humphrey earned All-CAC honors during his playing career and established himself as one of the region’s most respected competitors. Prior to Salisbury, he starred at Worcester Preparatory School, where he was a four-time All-Conference selection and conference Player of the Year, while also competing at the state and regional levels through Maryland ODP and the nationally recognized Potomac Cougars program.

Following his playing career, Humphrey transitioned naturally into coaching and mentorship roles, building a reputation for his football intelligence, player-first approach, and ability to identify and develop talent. His experience spans the collegiate, high school, and private development environments, including work with Salisbury University Women’s Soccer and leadership roles within the Sussex Academy girls’ soccer program.

Known throughout the Eastern Shore for his detailed understanding of the modern game, Humphrey has worked extensively with players in both team and individualized training settings, helping athletes develop technically, tactically, and mentally. His ability to connect with players while maintaining high developmental standards has made him a trusted figure within the local football community.

As Technical Director of Catena FC, Humphrey will play a central role in shaping and executing the club’s football operations and long-term sporting vision. Working alongside club leadership, Humphrey will help establish the standards, structure, and identity that define Catena FC both on and off the pitch.

In his role, Humphrey will oversee key technical and operational areas of the club including player recruitment and evaluation, coach development, performance analysis, sport science integration, and overall football strategy. He will help ensure that every layer of the club — from player identification to daily training environments — aligns with Catena FC’s long-term philosophy and competitive objectives.

As Technical Director, Humphrey’s focus extends beyond immediate results. He will be tasked with helping build sustainable systems and processes that position Catena FC for long-term success, balancing the demands of the present while strategically planning for the future. This includes helping define the club’s football identity, supporting the development pathway between the first team and future academy structures, and ensuring continuity in methodology and standards across all levels of the organization.

Humphrey will also serve as a key liaison between coaching staff, players, and club leadership, helping create a professional environment rooted in accountability, innovation, and player development. His role will be instrumental in implementing modern best practices in talent development, match preparation, and high-performance management as Catena FC continues building toward its broader vision for football on Delmarva.

At its core, the Technical Director role is about stewardship of the club’s football future — playing the long game while taking care of today — and Humphrey will be entrusted with helping forge the foundation upon which Catena FC is built.
